To ensure and foster sustainable growth beyond UN-SDGs we have voluntarily adopted several other frameworks as part of the Sustainability initiatives of Aitken Spence PLC including;

  • The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact ensure our operations meet the fundamentals in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
  • Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP) to ensure gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace.
  • Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards for Sustainability Reporting.
  • Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR).
  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO) benchmarks and standards for better management systems.

Our Container Freight Station, Logilink is certified for ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System while our Warehousing operations are certified for ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System and ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management System. Our Mobile Storage Solutions operations are certified for ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System & ISO 22000:2018 - Food Safety Management System.

We continuously strengthen HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) practices across all our operations in collaboration with customers and suppliers. Our latest HSSE initiatives include the adoption of solar power generation and daylight harvesting, solid waste and wastewater management, rain water harvesting, use of electric forklifts and workplace safety management through training and awareness building.

As a result of our continuous efforts to improve the overall organizational sustainability index, Aitken Spence PLC has been recognized in the global ranking of Top 100 Companies in Sustainability 2022 , in an independent assessment carried out by the internationally recognized ‘Sustainability’ magazine.

Our Inland Container Terminal was awarded a bronze medal from EcoVadis in 2021, a business sustainability rating platform based in Paris, France where the company was assessed in terms of environment, human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
